Marking two decades of University Ice Hockey with the Mavericks.
This season will mark the Nottingham Mavericks 20th anniversary since the clubs official founding back in 2001.
For over 20 years, the Mavericks have provided students, across various institutions in the East Midlands, a home to compete and enjoy the exciting sport of Ice Hockey. From being one of the founding members of the BUIHA, to running international developmental training camps in Finland. The Mavericks influence in advancing University Ice Hockey is widespread.
Since 2001, the club has annually continued to grow and increase its registered members, now boasting five teams across the BUIHA. While Many student-athletes have come and gone, including notable alumni's such as Robert Lachowicz and Thomas Norton of the Nottingham Panthers, what hasn't changed over the years is our thirst for winning.
Possessing nine National Championship titles and 11 Conference titles across the clubs 20-year history, the Nottingham Mavericks are one of the most successful University Ice Hockey clubs in the United Kingdom.
As we enter our 20th year, the future looks bright as we begin a new era in our club's history. Behind the scenes, many plans are underway to continue growing our club and improving the quality of the programmes we offer.
Now that we can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel and can begin to prepare for a new season of Ice Hockey, after such a turbulent year, it is going to be more important than ever that we aim to make our club accessible and inclusive to all. As a club, we pride ourselves on making our members feel like they are part of a second family, and it is now our job to bring that family back together after such a long time apart.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank both past and present members of the Nottingham Mavericks for all the support they have shown us over the years, as without it, we would not be the club that we are today.
In the end, through the best of times and the worst of times, we are all a part of one team. We are all a part of the Nottingham Mavericks.
